Harry Mavromichalis – Artistic Director, Dance Anonymous
Harry Mavromichalis received his Bachelors in Spanish Literature and Communication from Rutgers University. Upon graduation he moved to Denmark where he studied modern dance and a year later moved to New York City where he continued his studies at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. In 2000 he founded his modern dance company, Dance Anonymous. The company has toured extensively in the USA and in Europe and has performed in many theaters such as the Carnegie Hall, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Martha’s Vineyard, Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Curium, and The Duke on 42nd Street.
In the summer of 2001, Mr. Mavromichalis created the Annual Summer Intensive Dance Program that takes place in Cyprus. The program brings Master dance teachers from New York for a two week intensive dance training in different techniques. After eight years of having the workshop in Nicosia, 2009 will mark the beginning of a dual workshop with ten different teachers from New York teaching in Nicosia and Limassol.
More recently he has received his Masters in Film Directing from New York University where he has directed many short movies both in New York and in Spain. He just completed his first music video for a Sony/BMG artist and is in the process of writing his first feature-length script, which is to begin production in Cyprus in 2010.
