Letter from the Artistic Director Ten of the top dance instructors from the best dance studios in New York City (Steps On Broadway, Limon Center, Alvin Ailey School, Broadway Dance Center, Marymount Manhattan College) will be in Cyprus this summer for four weeks. Join us in the most impressive summer school that has happened in years. We are bringing New York City closer to you and while you will be able to take classes with master teachers, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful beaches, the warm weather and the amazing food of Cyprus, the island of Aphrodite. The workshop is called “A Taste of New York” for good reasons. Apart from the fact the teachers are from New York City, we have created the structure of classes that exist in New York. If you have ever been in a dance studio in New York, you will know that classes are fast, they focus a lot on technique and also on remembering choreography. Because of the high level of competition, dancers are forced to take 2 or 3 classes per day and then go out and audition or work for dance companies. That is exactly the experience you will have in our workshops. There will be three technique classes per day that focus on both technique and choreography, and then you will work on repertory. In two weeks each dancer will have to learn four or five pieces of choreography that will be performed at the end of the workshop in a professional setting.
